More "they say"isms...
Life, they say, is a series of moments.
It is; so which ones? The ones you want to gather close and gently hold, or the ones that make you laugh like a maniac at 3 am when the rest of the world is asleep? The ones that you would give an arm, leg and half your ass to live over, or the ones that you wish you could wish away?
Or those 'defining moments?', when in one shimmering second, everything changes and nothing remains the same?
They all happened, and they contributed to shaping Who You Are. So which ones will you keep? Which ones will you allow back into your headspace for review?
And does not one moment segue into the next, and the next? And because one is less remarkable than the other, can we disregard it? Deny it existed? Erase it from having been?
Because if it were not for those unremarkable moments, how could we discern the truly remarkable ones? What frame of reference, what benchmark, what scale of 1 to 10 would we use to rate those truly singular times that stand out, whether for good or for bad?
More to the point, if life is truly a series of moments, is that a random series, or an ordered one? Can we switch modes? How often? Can it be an automatic switch with day-glo starfish on it so you can see it in the dark? Can we choose the sort? I'll have the Magic, Spectacular, Weird, Deja vu, and then Chocolate Mousse for dessert. No Gross, Fraught, Depressed, Angry or Fat, thanks. I'm detoxing.
